Most of California is vulnerable to floods. Every county has been declared a flood disaster area multiple times. One in five Californians and more than $580 billion worth of structures (including their contents) are vulnerable.
Thus, I want to create a platform(Channel F) to help people who live in or near flood zone in California to solve problems happened in flood season. Channel F is to support California citizens and first responders to ensure that as a community we work together to build, sustain and improve our capability to prepare for, protect against, respond to, recover from and mitigate the affects of flooding.
100% Americans live in flood zone, but only 13% homeowners have a flood insurance policies.
In a flood, neighbourhood are always the ones who suffer the most. The people of the community have the smallest role in the planning progress.
Most people do not know how to prepare for a flood or haven’t any ideas of how flood preparation is different from other disasters.
